See below for more info. Thank you for your patience.
The sobering and undeniable fact is that our beloved sector is under threat. Even with greater business clarity, stronger relationships, and increased accountability, many nonprofit businesses will struggle to survive. And if we fail... the communities we serve suffer.
Historically, a guild is a community of skilled professionals who share knowledge, tools, and resources to advance their craft.
The Nonprofit Guild embraces this spirit; bringing business-focused, nonprofit leaders together to learn from one another, share resources, and hold each other accountable — because stronger nonprofits lead to stronger communities.
A no-cost, comprehensive assessment that measures your organization’s performance across eight essential pillars of nonprofit business health, providing a clear, actionable roadmap for growth.

Sidney Smith is a respected nonprofit strategist with a proven record of strengthening organizations through clear-eyed business fundamentals and innovative thinking. As a proud graduate of the University of Missouri and Rockhurst University, Sidney pairs academic rigor with two decades of practical experience in business, including for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
How did we get here: A life-changing work assignment forever transformed Sidney’s perspective — leading and ultimately dissolving a well-respected, 60+ year-old community-based nonprofit due to financial unsustainability. That experience fuels Sidney’s personal mission to help nonprofit leaders avoid similar outcomes by focusing on sound, measurable business practices.
A glimpse behind the curtain: Beyond the office, Sidney enjoys competitive bowling, supporting Kansas City-based sports, and diving into business and leadership books for inspiration. A self-aware, lifelong learner both professionally and personally, Sidney values time with family and friends and believes that meaningful relationships are the foundation of a fulfilling life.
